Tampa Bay Live Rock Photos:

TBS Live Rock is some of the most alive, beautifully colored aquacultured rock available today... anywhere IMHO... This rock is AquaCultured from the Gulf of Mexico In Florida, plucked from the Aquaculture site by scuba divers, transported to their holding facilites Under WATER. It is then Kept in WATER at the TBS Store, and more importantly SHIPPED to YOU IN WATER!!!

By AquaCulturing the rock (man made zones under water) NO natural reefs are destroyed by harvesting this LR!!! A WIN WIN!!

TBS also harvests Live Sand and sells with the LR by the pound.

They also offer “THE PACKAGE” on their site which allows you to figure what you need for a given tank size. They include cleaning crews (snails, starfish, hermit crabs, cucumbers etc etc), live sand and spectacular Live Rock. The rock comes in two shipments if you are starting a new tank they ship the LR and Live sand to get the cycle going, then the critters and the more colorful DECO rock comes in the second shipment.  These pictures are of the first half of my 25GAL “package”  They aren’t even the MOST colorful that TBS HAS!

To get this rock you can pickup at their store, or order online and have it shipped via AIR CARGO to your door. Or you can do FEDEX as well but thats more $$$.

This picture was taken Right of the box of water.  As you can see here lots of great colors and some unique sponges etc etc. I also got 30lbs of Live Sand (which is great stuff!) Im going to use the TBS rock to decorate and cap off my Tonga Rock which was used as the base rock for my Reef Wall. Kind of like Icing on the CAKE! The rock looks really great under daylight lighting too! Most of my shots were under actinics since the tank is new, I dont run the daylights much (trying to avoid algea) More pictures of this nice rock under daylights!

full tank shot 14 days into introducing the LR... Most if not all the life on the TBS rock has survived the transplantation and shipping. You can still see plenty of color on it too!

Here are some more rotating pics... If you can’t see them you need to download SUN JAVA!

My first half shipment of LR from the 25 GAllon “ package” before I put it in the tank,

Because it’s shipped and kept underwater, means everything that was on or in the rock when it was in the Ocean, is still ALIVE when it gets to your door... yes, there is minimal die off, and some unwanted hitchikers are possible, but Unlike other rock that is shipped DRY and Basically DEAD this stuff comes to you teeming with LIFE! The rock requires no “curing” since its basically not DEAD. only DEAD and dying rock needs to be cured.
