We at NautilusReef.com are pleased to be the first on the Planet to offer ”Fragnets” This is an incredibly ingenious one of a kind Magnetic coral frag mounting system for mounting coral frags/colonies to Live Rock, and LIVE Rock to LIVE ROCK, for cool Rockscaping ideas!  

Are you tired of finding your precious soft and hard corals constantly getting knocked over by fish and snails in your display tank? We didn’t like some of the more popular options (drilling, dowling, rubber bands, and or tons of epoxy/superglue) out there for mounting frags to Live Rock.  Another great thing about Fragnets is they can barely be seen after mounting! Our pictures prove it! Who wants to spend 1000s of dollars on frags only to see some ugly hunky mounting system under the frag? Not US!

Fragnets are made from the most powerful magnets on Earth. We chose these particular magnets because they coated with reef safe material to prevent corrosion, can be glued with super glue or epoxy safely, and were very small, but incredibly powerful they can lift 5lbs of STEEL with ONE fragnet! These small discs are smaller than a penny, yet can hold a large coral frags/colonies in place firmly while allowing you to MOVE the frags around easily in the tank, even remove a coral colony completely for fragging, or even exchanging places in the tank WITHOUT having to RE-Glue or remount the frag!

 

Why use Fragnets?

  1. It allows users to strongly and safely mount coral frags, Large colonies of corals to Live Rock and EVEN Glass! How? Mounting discs can last upto 2 years or more in the tank before needing to be replaced. Often the coral will encrust over the frag if left in place long enough. Fragnets uses two tiny, yet extremely  powerful magnets to keep the frag in place while letting it be moved or removed from the tank WITHOUT re-gluing or re-mounting the frag!. Simply super glue/epoxy one magnet to the frag’s base for mounting, i.e. the corals, clams, base...whatever..Then glue the second fragnet to the Live Rock. Fragnets lets you move and remove your frags and other tank inhabitants around in the tank,  changing places easily in the tank, or completely removing the colony for fragging.  Fragnets may also be used in ROCKSCAPING by using the Fragnet to adhere two seperate chunks of Live Rock for unique positions arches, and or  difficult cantelevered arrangements.
     
  2. Normally you would permanently mount frags onto Live Rock or GLass. But with Fragnets It's also an easier method of frag holding since your not trying to get a large frag or frag rubble to adhere with superglue or epoxy to the rock at the SAME TIME. The method we use is to superglue glue one Fragnet to the rock using epoxy or supglue or both, then glue one to the frag rock rubble or coral itself then with the opposite magnetic poles of the disc  facing each other so they “pull” This allows you to easily place the frag onto the rock and enjoy!"

  4. It will allow for some unique frag and Live Rock mountings, (on tank’s glass) and LIVE ROCK, ROCKSCAPING configurations. With Fragnets really cool Live Rock arrangements and unique ROCK Spans can be achieved, because you can attach Fragnets onto the LR itself and bind two seperate rocks quickly and safely together, and plus it’s not permanent, so you can move them around or place new fragnets in other spots of the rocks if need be, to achieve the look or scape your trying to get.
