The CJStandPipe Family of Overflow Silencers!

Models shown L to R: MEGA 2”OD - 1.5” OD - 1.25” OD

A “Stand Pipe” is used in overflows to silence the draining sound of the water as it flows through your overflow down into a sump (sounds like a toilet flushing) To accomplish this, the pipe hole is actually submerged UNDER water so there is NO sucking sound or drain sounds.  Below is a drawing of how two of these would work in a HIBO style slot fed overflow. These would be normally 1.5 or 1.25” OD dependingo on tank size ond overflow box size.

This is a safe quiet way to circulate water in a Reef Aquarium that won’t flood when the power dies, will never loose siphon easy to install and maintain.  All pipes are made out of Reef Safe, tough durable ABS plastic. To find out what size you need using a flow calculator click   here

A great benefit of this design is that it is very narrow and can easily fit in crowded overflows. The smaller versions work great on CPR and other siphon fed type overflows. You can have a large drain hole that does NOT have to be sponged or strained, since the bell housing protects the hole from critters and other larger items from clogging the drain hole completely since the gap around the bell housing is quite small, while still providing great flow through the pipe.
