I was setting up my 60 Gallon Flatback Hexagon Tank for my home office along with a 30 gallon DIY Sump design with Fuge. I thought it would be interesting to share my experiences with progressive photos and tips on ReefCentral.com.
Click HERE if you want to view the RC thread showing this setup from start to finish.
I also have Indexed each category of this setup, i.e. Live Rock, Stand, Equipment, Tank, Plumbing etc etc.. for quick reference for anyone who is interested in perusing this sites content quickly without having to scroll thorough endless pictures of other things you’re not interested in...
There are tons of pictures and construction/fabriction tips on pages within this site than can be found right HERE as well, some photo samples to the right.....
There are lots of pictures and DIY tips on the thread as well as feedback from other readers.. so it’s good reading! I show how I made my DIY stand, raised panel doors, Tank mods, Closed Loop system and plumbing, Refugeum, and all the other Plumbing ideas and experiments (some didn’t work :)that go along with setting up a sucessful reef tank. You will see the tank evolve from a bunch of wood into a fully stocked tank with Tampa Bay Live Rock and live sand, and critters! TBS is IMHO, the best rock you can get! This stuff is aquacultured and shipped IN WATER, call or e mail Rick and be sure to read his story on how he started TBS on the site above, it too is great reading. TBS is NEVER out of the water for more than a few minutes... so its VERY alive! The live sand is scooped from basically 45ft of water right off the ocean floor next to where his aquacultured his rock. The sand comes with everything that is alive on a real ocean floor... also shipped in water it too is alive!
